Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:57 am)
P6 doesn't have a limit of 6, 8 or anything like that. OpenGL has a display limit of 6, I believe. This means that significantly more than this won't be previewed correctly - or rather, what passes for "correctly" in Poser's light preview. You can, however, successfully load and render a ridiculous amount of lights in P6. The largest I've managed so far is 72.

Good Lord! And I get spanked for saying I've used 3 plus an IBL, LOL

Yep, there's a limit - but one could say, too, that this is kind of an enhancement. You don't need to mess around with a complete dome out of 70 near-black lights to get the illusion of sunlight or to add 24 lights to illuminate a room. Maybe I'm alone with my opinion, but I think the P6-lighting is the major enhancement and much closer to reality (and a lot easier to handle).
I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!
And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!
