I may need to work in carra5pro + poser using dynamic clothing. This means i'm going to spend an awful lot of time watching the computer (did you know that if you stare hard enough at the screen it renders faster?) my present hardware setup is nothing special: g5 imac 512ram/ PC with pentium 4, 2.8ghz, 512ram whats my best option to have a decent working environment?....

Ooh I would have thought at least 1gig of RAM if not more. Love esther PS I try to do other things whilst pics are rendering.

I aim to update it about once a month.  Oh, and it's free!

I'm running with 1 gig of ram and wanting to go to 2... Thanks for the 'tip' on staring at the screen making it go faster. Things also render faster if you sleep through them. ;)

spinners, definately increase the ram on both of you render computers. Otherwise there isn't much you more you could do beyond adding more units to your "renderfarm". mike

i'd just add more ram if that p4 is a celeron, thats gonna hurt a little :P

Heh. I've actually used P5, cloth room and dynamic hair, CarraraPro 5 with Transposer, GI and indirect lighting and caustics..... On a G3/266 mHtz with 512 meg of RAM
