But here are some strawberries. Snack on these when you feel better, and i hope it's soon. Cheers.

Oh! Thats a wonderful treat....the picture alone brings summer to my mind, and it is snowing here again.....Thank you so much! You know, I love these, and cherries....I can sit and eat a quart of strawberries at night in the summer watching telly. Nature's candy. Thanks again.

All this fruit!! Soo darn healthy!!! Corndog, anyone!?! (I make this joke up especially for you people over The Pond. Corndogs hit us a couple of years ago and never caught on here!!! Oh, by the way, can I arrange with anyone to get some Beef Jerky?? It can't be sold here and I LOVE the stuff!!! Cash waiting, as they say!!!!

Syyd ( ) posted Fri, 30 March 2001 at 3:19 PM

Oh My god, my son eats beef jerky in bagfuls....I was surprised, we buy pemmican, and it has a very low fat content! Of course, people survived on it for centuries in the wilderness! Im not a corndog fan myself, I'd take a chip buttie, any day. LOL, Im sure I spelled it wrong again! Things I've learned to appreciate since the UK came here, Bassetts Licorice candies, my favorites are the ones with the blue and pink beads on them, migraleve, chip butties, real bacon too, although we can't really get good bacon here. Bangers and Mash, seriously, we've never had it, and I refuse to eat blood pudding of any kind.

mjshepherd ( ) posted Fri, 30 March 2001 at 3:29 PM

LOL!!! We call them Licorice Allsorts - the little Blue/Black Bertie's are even nicer!! I thought Migraleve was American!!!! Chip butties!! Woo Hoo!! ("Butty" in the singular) Bacon...mmmmm smoked of course! Bangers & Mash - overrated.... and we call it Black Pudding. Less off-putting, we think!! Have U ever tried Yorkshire Pudding??? mmmmmmmmmm...... and Donuts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Syyd ( ) posted Fri, 30 March 2001 at 3:33 PM

Donuts, from Tim Horton's are the best een all America! Oh I love those all sorts....they are called Berties?????? Cool....Never tried yorkshire pudding, had plum pudding this new years day, and I will never eat it again....cream or no cream!

Tee Hee - Yorkshire Puddings are eaten with a dinner - they aren't sweet - and are made with a recipe similar to pancakes. 1 egg, 4oz Plain Flour, Pinch Salt, 3fl oz milk, 2 fl oz water - mix thoroughly, put in oven in a bun or muffin tray on 190 deg c until risen.....try with a Thanksgiving style dinner, on their own or as one big one cooked in a sponge tin and then filled with a beef stew. You WILL love them, guaranteed!!!

Oh now that sounds really nice...none of that spicy plum goo! I'll have to make this with a stew it sounds really good! Thanx!

;-( All this talking about food....I have an immense craving for lasagna, a nice light salad and garlic bread...but I'm still only eating little pieces of carrot! :P And...mmmmmmmmm..........Yorkshire Puddings.......I'm not such an awfully big fan of English cooking, but they have some things I wouldn't want to be without! I like cheese and mince pies too..even though they're terribly bad for ya. Mmmmmmm.........must...........find...........food...... ~M~

Syyd ( ) posted Sat, 31 March 2001 at 8:59 AM

What is a cheese and mince pie??????? Mince meat with Cheese??????

Marshmallowpie ( ) posted Sun, 01 April 2001 at 4:45 PM

It's mince meat, sauce and cheese in pie pastry :P It looks like a tiny little pie. Yuuuuummy.

mjshepherd ( ) posted Sun, 01 April 2001 at 5:09 PM

Cheese & mince? Ugh!! Cheese & vegetable, yeah - but mince??? Wierd!! Oh, forgot to mention, the Yorkie Pud mix should be just slightly runny, not too thick & not watery. Have fun!
