THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: OT: Heat Sink WIP (C&C)

Modelling entirely in Wings3D; render in Cinema4D because Bryce would take FOREVER, and Cinema comes up with a higher quality render in some ways anyway (I like the way it smooths, especially--looks very cool).

I'm not sure if I'm going to finish this due to time constraints (between learning school and C4D); maybe once I get more proficient with Cinema I'll go ahead and texture it and finish. Nevertheless, any C&C would be highly appreciated as I start going for more complex scenes.

Thanks!

Thats great - interesting look to it.

To be fair, I think texturing might actually distract from the 'look' it has to it.

I'm guessing part of the magic is using the Glow filter?

Fantastic! I agree with Len, texture may over due an already complex and intriguing scene. Powerful on its own. NICE work!

Excellent! I, OTOH, think that a simple copper texture wouldn't kill it. :-)

I agree on above said. It looks fabolous. Simple texturing would be most suitable.

I agree with the others. Textures would probably ruin this image. It looks great as is. If I was going to change anything,(And this is only to see how it looks,) I would do a render with the heat sink itself copper.

I dont no, I think it would be interesting to see it done with textures. At the moment it looks like a very old invention you might see in the lab of Tesla or some one; I think I get this impression from the B+W. Dont get me wrong, I think it looks cool like this, I just think it would be interesting to see it textured. Built in Wings, rendered in C4D and posted in the Bryce forum lol. Nice work all the same Robert, keep it up! Michael:)

I never intended to make art.

...and why is there a little girl hiding in the box at centre-right at the back?

Er... Bryster, I'm the one who's got a heavy cold and is slightly feverish. :-P

Thanks, everone. =) pumeco-- Actually, the glow effect came from Paint Shop Pro. I'm not terribly comfortable with Cinema4D yet (although I'm already in awe of its abilities, can't wait to tackle Maya sometime either next semester or the following semester hopefully). Erlik-- Hmm, copper isn't exactly what I had in mind for this image. Interesting idea, though... Cyba_Storm-- I must very respectfully disagree. Although perhaps this image could stand alone as is, I've got a much different look in mind. =) -------------- I'm a little afraid that Bryster is going to burn me at the stake. =) Er... the little girl is... um... a ghost, yeah, that's it. She's very, um, intentional. Yeah... I'm hoping that sometime in the near future I'll be proficient enough with C4D to create a character model to go along with this. Maybe at that time I will be more equipped to finish this off.

Artistic vision is a great thing. One image, multiple views. Now if only the poser crowd could work out something else to do with Vicki.

@shinyary

Cool, I still think you should have a bash at Cinemas built-in filters though - they're bloody great!

Cinemas got a gorgeous renderer, that's for sure.

Len.
