Subject: Saving rendered images as layers

Hello all,

Is there any way to save a rendered image as a layered file so that the figure can be separated from the background? For example saving a figure so that it can be super imposed over another image?

Thanks for any help.

After you render and go to save it, save it as a .png file. When you open it in your graphic program it won't have a background.

I use .tiff myself. As many others. .tiff, .PSD and .PNG, all have alfa layers. Use which one works best for you.

i dont have a high spec PC, so this is the only way i can do the images i want. plus it cuts down on render times, so if you see something you dont like or want to change, you have not lost a load of time, my first image has about 10 layers in it. my second has more (its still a WIP) but it let my work on one part without having to wait for the whole image to render.

Here is a thread with many great answers. Sorry it took so long to find. But I'm sure you can make use of it.
