Subject: Baptism Font

Has anyone seen a model of a font anywhere? Simple or elaborate I don't really care - free would be nice but will look at paid....

What type of font are you looking for? I've seen radically differing types, as in some religions, baptism is done by sprinkling water on a baby's head, whereas in others, full immersion of children or adults is performed. Still others are quite elaborate, with golden oxen and such. You might be able to create one for yourself using simple primitives or perhaps by rescaling a birdbath or swimming pool model ... something with the same general shape of what you have in mind.

I was looking for the "Bird Bath" type - basically a large bowl on a pedastal. It is something I thought I may have to create myself - just that I am short on time for this project and it was a last minute request.....

I'm assuming you are looking for an actual font and not a 3D model.

If it's a font you are looking for, House of Lime has many ding fonts. You might find something there.

If you are looking for 3D models for poser, you can find one at one of these links: http://www.simplylightwave.com/download_pages/index.mhtml?type=models http://www.varian.net/dreamview/dreammodels/vde/index.html http://www.shapemagic.com/downloads.htm http://www.magickalmoon.com/poser/index.php http://eclecticguild.com/posergoodies.htm http://www.one-commune.com/ The link at the top looks like a pretty generic one that would probably work for your needs.

When do you need it? It is on my list of freebies I want to make. I gathered some reference images yesterday.

Think I may be able to do something with combining the pot and the birdbath at the eclecticguild. I still have about 10 days Francemi so I'd be interested in seeing what you have planned - something always made for the purpose looks better than something cobbled together....

I'll try to get it online this evening. It is a P6 prop. took all of about 5 min to make in Shade. it is not uv mapped nor did i split the vertices. the materials are shader nodes. The water is a separate prop set so that it reflects, refracts and doesn't cast shadows.

I finished my model and it is available on my website on the Religious Props page. It is not as fancy as the one above but it matches the rest of the series of liturgical accessories I intend to create in the future. Anyway, now you have a choice. ;o)
