Good Evening All, I'm fairly new to this marvelous place [been lurking a bit], and could really use some advice for creating headlights [lighting] for a vehicle in Bryce [I use a vehichle as an example, I'm sure there is a technical name for this type of lighting]. Some advice or a link towards advice would be greatly appreciated! Happiness and Health BBBob :-)

It depends mostly on your angle. If the POV is looking at the front of the car Radial lights would do the trick nicely without too much tweaking. Side view, however takes a little more to work at. (Rob)

Do you want a lot of detail? Best way to do it with lots of detail would be to use a small radial light, throw some near transparent textured objects shaped like a head light around the light. poof you have a headlight. Bryce is meant to be realistic so create it like you would create a real headlight. Easy fast cheap way: Take a directional light, either the cone or box and throw it on the front of the car. It wont fool many people but it is a light.

If you are looking for powerful headlights that shatter the mist, rain, snow ect hold down ctrl and click on the square parallel now you should have a round light in your scene now click on E and set your lighting up to 600(Brcye4)change the ring to 50% then go in and click on volume visable and infinite light and render and there you go add textures to the lighting or even play with the intensity of the light

I did this for the February underwater challenge. Select a cone light object, set it up the way I did here and see if that works. If you want fog or something, you can select a darker sunlight color from the little color box just below and to the left of the sun azimuth sphere at the top of the Bryce screen.
