Not just Ghost pages - looks like Ghost posts as well.
In this forum my thread "Uhm - OK - What's happening here?" - is showing 4 replies however when you browse the thread there is only 2 replies...

It just occured to me that maybe the thread has a deleted post or two. On the old system mods and admin could still see the posts but members couldn't. If that's still the case then maybe the forum process 'sees' the deleted posts and acts accordingly, but there's just tumbleweeds rolling by for us regular folk.
And no, I'm not going to count the visible posts in six pages and compare that to the number listed. ;-)
this happens for me when there are exactly the same number of posts in a thread as I have set for 'messages per page' or whatever that option is called.
the max value is 30, which is what I have it set to.
so, if there are 30 posts in the thread, it'll show me a spurious page 2 with no posts.
likewise, if there are 60 posts in the thread, it'll show me a spurious page 3...
I've seen this bug on other PHP forums. I'm pretty sure it was fixed in PHPBB ages ago.

Just a heads up (not a rant, for a change ;-)). Some of the thread descriptions on forum header pages have an extra page listed (obviously for multipage threads only). When you click on the number, you get a page with no posts.
There's an example in the Bryce forum (at time of writing this) entitled "Welcome to Renderosity's new PHP Forums**!**" (ironically enough ;-)). Six pages are listed on the forum header page but only five in the thread itself - and only five pages have posts.
