Just wanted to share some views of a mesh I've been working on. This is another science fiction interior setting. No n-gons, mostly quads with a few tris. Cheers! M

Reverse angle showing the doorway into this small room. I think that the keypad is a bit too low, so I might need to make an adjustment. The side walls are deliberately left bare for some modular wall units. Cheers! M

That looks excellent M!!! (as usual, M-tastic;-) I realy like the blinds (not sure it's the right word), I mean the shutters at the top of both door-openings, to seal them of... Very 'contained' atmosphere; I actually get claustrophobic just from looking at it  The blue backroom makes it very cool (both figuratively and literally!!!) Can't wait to see it with the modular wall units you have in mind. Not sure if there's a problem with the size of the keypads, you could enlarge them, or not, I don't mind, if you don't matter 😉 Thanks for sharing, Mike

Coming soon

Hiya Mike, Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment. I've seen your work, and the high quality of your modeling. Praise from you really means a lot to me. The keypads are intentionally sized, but I have no idea what they are for though. But, as with all the models and sets I design, I try to give them at least the hint of credible functionality. My biggest bias as a modeler is this irresistible urge in trying to maintain symmetry. Couldn't figure it out before, but this all is because I have a left-handed younger brother I love dearly. As kids I can still remember him complaining about why everything had to be right-handed. I suppose modeling this way is just the big brother in me subliminally coming out. 😄 I'm working on the wall units as we speak, but I haven't made substantial enough progress to post. Thank you again for the feedback. Cheers! M

Here's a view of the wall unit I was talking about. Still in progress, but this particular *galley* configuration is about 90% complete. I will keep the opposite side for a small dining area along the wall. Then I will start work on this as a waiting area. Aside from converting this into sleeping quarters, I also thought about reconfiguring this room as a kind of locker space. Again, thank you very much for taking the time to look at this mesh. If you've got any questions on the modeling of this, please let me know and I will do my best to explain my simplistic methods. Cheers! M

i think it looks excellent.... nice effect, and at least its a little different from the usual mundane fantasy stuff you see posted around here all the time....about time somebody did something for the sci-fi market.

It seems to me that worlds and environments are the biggest challenges in modeling. Because when doing them, they can seem to go on forever, and it is easy to skip on the details, which, when too many details are lost, can ruin the whole thing. This peice of work is awesome in all its detail and anyone, even a new guy like me, can plainly see the huge amount of work that went into it. I really like it, makes me wanna shoot some bad guys!
