As per old forum, I'd like to receive notifications upon select members submitting new gallery images, though I've scoured the site far and wide and am unable to find the place to do so. Could someone please enlighten me further.

Yup, gotta add'em to your favorites. It's a button listed under each members image(s)

Along with an option in your "Member Options>My Profile". Make sure that is activated.
