Has anyone purchased any of Video by AsileFX and if so did they think it was a good purchase and did you find them very usefull? As I was thinking about purchasing some of them but wanted to get peoples thoughts first. Are there any good Tuts included?

Whats the best cd to get for some insperation from?

Thanks in advance,

Bushy

I bought 'Advanced V5I - vol 1'. It was quite good, for the price. I have seen these done better (by other vendors, and for C4D, not Vue) but overall, I was happy with the purchase. For $40, it's not bad.

The author/narrator has an infuriating habit (for me) of constantly fiddling with the position of dialog boxes on screen, which is very off-putting, but the sound and video quality was fine.

As for which one to get, well I'm not a Vue expert but I was not stretched at all by the one I bought. On that basis, 'Getting started with Vue Infinite' may be really quite basic, so it depends on your current level. Will I buy another? Yes, probably.

I have 4 now (just downloaded the tips and tricks one).  Yes they are worth the price and I found them to all be very useful.  So far I like Vol 1 and 2 the best.  Haven't had a chance to even start the tips and tricks one...

I  also reccomend these volumes.  I have 3- Getting Started, Adv Vol1 and Adv Vol2.  I intend to pick up the other two.  Some of the info covers topics from the Manual (but the simple visual style makes it a little more approachable- function editor/lighting), but overall there are enough solid pieces to really accelerate your Vue learning curves.  The Author's simple humor and straigt-forward style makes the material easy and fun.

Is it worth getting the getting started volume - or is it really basic? I have perv used Vue 4 - so know some of the basics - but only the very basics!

Wonder how good the tips & tricks are?

Cheers

The getting started DVD is very basic as it covers all of the "how to" stuff like moving objects, creating primitives, creating lights etc.  It does have lots of tips though that I never picked up by reading the manual.  If you learned Vue by poking around the program only, then I would say get the DVD.

I have not bought these, so no opinion. I do have, like and recommend the downloadable "Procedural Terrains" tutorial available on 3DCommune (runs inside Vue Help, but no audio).

Made a free 5 part video tutorial myself, with voice instruction, about Vue 5 Materials, with an introduction to the Function Editor. See my "Free Stuff" web site pages.

I also just yesterday launched my new, free directory for Vue tutorials - hoping to find and list most available online tutorials. Would be great if it became an important Vue community resource.

I'd be gratefull if you'd stop by and suggest your favorite tutorial links, or some additional sub-categories. Please also alert me to any bugs. I'm not promising to list every link that is suggested, but also not expecting to reject many, lol. Just want to keep the quality high.

Thanks Folks!
