Subject: Spawning magnet based morphs on previously morphed figure

baggettbear ( ) posted Thu, 27 April 2006 at 10:09 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 5:02 AM

I would like to spawn a morph target after modifying a figure using Poser magnets. This is pretty straightforward, except the figure already has morphs applied to the target parts. When I use the spawned morph dial, it not only dials in the changes I made with the magnets, but also increases the existing morphs in the affected body part. As the existing morphs have been injected into the figure, I cannot remove them by dialing them out before spawning the magnet-based morph. Is there any way to capture just the changes made by the magnets in a morph dial without including the previously injected morphs?

Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.

Just turn all morphs to Zero before you spawn your morph. It will then just reflect yoru magnets.

If you have already spawned the morph...and the figure still has the affective dials active.....

  1. Turn your Morph dial to -1. This will make a mess but cancel out the dialed character.

  2. Spawn a new morph. It will be the reverse of you magnets but you will have filtered out the figure morphs above.

  3. Now set that dial to -1 and you will get  you magnets shapes back.

  4. Spawn a new Morph Target under a new name.

You can use Morph manager to remove the unwated morphs. Or P6 can delete the morphs from steps1-3

Hope that helps,

Anton

what anton said is correct but why do you say you "cannot remove them by dialing them out before spawning the magnet-based morph"?

The character was created using a morph injection which alters the figure, but apparently does not change the body morph dials.  That's why Anton's first option wouldn't help me. However, the "morph cancelling" approach worked well, so all is fine now. Many thanks for the fast assistance!

I hate the way Poser does that!

The only way to really make morphs out of mags is to start making the magnets on a Totally Zero'd / Completely Unmorphed version of wichever figure you are using.
