Subject: Does DAZ 3D starter pack contain full set of V3 RR head/body morphs?

Sorry to bug you with what actually is a DAZ sales staff question, but I put it there yesterday and they are not reponding. I have less than 24 hours before the discount action ends.

I want to buy the reduced resuluion version of V3 (V3 RR; ps_pe049; now on sale for $19.98), but I understand there is also a '3-D Starter pack' (product code ds_bn001) for only 1 dollar more, containing:

(quote)

Victoria 3.0 Reduced Resolution

  • Built-in morphs for head and body included
  • Head & Body Texture Maps
  • Mimic Compatible
  • Expression Morphs
  • MAT Pose files

(end quote)

plus same for Michael 3 and some more figures. This wouldbe a good bargain, but what worries me is the phrase 'Built-in morphs for head and body' in the above. Does that mean the starter pack comes with just a reduced set of morphs, for instance as comes with the V3 RR LE included in the DAZ|Studiobase content?

The reduced resolution doesn't have all of the head or body morphs.  It has 350 morphs built in, but what is missing I don't know.  The bad thing about only getting a portion of the morphs is that when you try to use a character addon and it calls for a morph you don't have, the package won't work.  So you end up spending more money on the full morph packages anyway so that you get the full benefit of having all of the morphs.

Personally it looks like a better deal to get the FREE V3 SAE base:
http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1098

Then buy the complete V3 Head/Body morphs:
http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=3008

An even better deal is to download both the FREE V3 and M3 bases:
http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1558
http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1098

Then buy the combination head/body morph package for both of them:
http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=3010

If you have a Platinum Clum Membership, you get 30% off of those prices.

You don't get any textures with those, however there are so many free character addons out there for V3 (not as many for M3), that you can acquire a large library of textures to use and the good thing is that eyes, lips, nails are pretty much mix and match, meaning you can use a body and head texture from one package, then use eyes from another, lips from another, and nails from yet a different one.

In addition to the free textures, there are also a huge number of addon texture packages in the various stores for both V3 and M3, and many are pretty reasonably priced at $6 or $7, or even less sometimes.

Thank you, Acadia.

The thing is: I kinda like the Reduced resolution version because it does not hog up my PC so much and it renders more quickly. I hardly do big size pic's.

The platinum club was something I looked at. In combination with the bonus and the Hexagon offer etc. is could be worth-while.

I don't work for Daz, but, I don't think there is any difference between starter bundled v3rr and v3rr seperately. I got the starter pack and it has a ton of morphs for v3rr. It is a nice figure, although I wish people made a few char faces for her. I think Yamato made a character for her, but never saw it turn up on his site.
I wish Daz would make aiko3 reduced rez but they said it is not being planned.

Thank you wraith.

I made a comparison list between V3 RR and V3 h/b morphs. Most is there, so most of the  normal V3 chars should work as long as there are no built-in custom morphs and you re-direct to the right mesh.

The comparison list gets messed-up when I paste it in the message. (hence the deleted message) When there is a wider interest I can mkake it 'publishable'.
