Just thought I'de share an example of some of the ship concepts I'm toying with for my project.

Might put this ship .obp up for free download since it's just a test concept - need somebody to host it though.

I tried combining Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, and 1930s / 1940s "streamline" styling mixed with modern aerospacing contours - tried to mate the old with the new (ultimate goal on ships and vehicles is to do a "futuro retro" motiff).

Share your ideas and suggestions / critiques please...

This one is a nice design except for the single tube in the center-top. I distracts from the flow of the craft.

I borrowed the elevated / isolated "cockpit" concept from the assymmetrical qaulities of some of the Star Wars ships (Millenium Falcon / B-Wings) and the "Drak" fighters from the film "ENEMY MINE" (The Drak fighters were WAAAYYY cooler than the BTA fighters in that movie).

i love ASSYMETRICAL AIRCRAFT!!!

This ship was actually designed to be a rather large cruise ship and not a fighter - the untextured model clearly shows not a single cockpit - but multiple deck canopies in a stacked configuration.
