Subject: version 2.41 - Where's subsurf?

After not using version 2.37 for a while, I recently downloaded 2.41.  The Subsurf button appears to be missing from the interface.  Is there another way to subsurf an object?  Help!

It got turned into a "Modifier" on the edit panel.
