Subject: Wind force - How?

Can anyone explain or point me to a tut that explains how wind force is applied to dynamic clothes. I know, RFM, but the FM is less than helpfull to an intelectually semi-challenged (me) person...

TIA

  • Select the clothing (in the Pose Room) at frame 1.
  • Go to ObjectMenu->Create Wind Force (which will attach the wind force to your clothing).
  • Make sure that the wind's spread-angle and range include the clothing. There should be visual indicators that you can see to make sure that this is so.
  • Adjust the Amplitude (wind strength) to what you want (may take a few goes to get it right).
  • Run the Cloth simulation.....

Wind Force only works during an animation, so you have to set that up 1st. Think of it as another (but separate) Cloth Room parameter. The big difference between Wind Force and the cloth room params is that wind can be controlled independently, via the animation controls. So it can be started part-way through the animation. This can be useful, even in still pics, to get some effects..

Hope that helps,
Cheers,
Diolma

Thanks. I think my mistake was that I did not select the clothing first..
