My IBL light is set up with AO and the whole scene renders fine but for some diamond artifacts in the surrounding sphere -- also I want it to use its full color.

How to turn off ambient occlusion for only one prop (environment sphere) in IBL-lit + AO scene?

Uncheck "visible in raytracing" for it.
