Ok, when my hard drive crashed I lost a LOT of files...I have the .obj files for one of my models but not the cr2 and others...Is there a way to get these files to be useable in Poser again or am I    out of luck?

If this was a freebie made by you, just ask around - maybe someone downloaded it and can help you. If this was a model for your own private use only (and noone else had it), then you're out of luck - the only way is to build .cr2 from a scratch.

Id first try a file recovery application.... even if the drives been formatted, it should still be able to find them. Otherwise, I guess youll have import it back into poser and start again... sorry I know exacly how you feel, I think its happed to all of us at least once :(

not likely.  none but the most expensive data recovery software can get back data from reformatted drives.  it'd be much, much more expensive than to buy the item again or recreate the poser files based on the obj.

if the drive has not been formatted, then there is a chance, but file recovery has less and less success the more has been written to the relevant partition after the initial loss of the files -- this is something that needs to be done fast.  and if the files got lost in the first place because of a physical drive problem, there is nothing that will get them back.

ellocolobo, if you bought this item through a still existing site, you should be able to get your download reset.

Thanks to all for answering...I guess I should have mentioned I had to put in a new harddrive and motherboard...I did purchase the item and I have been looking through the store trying to remember who I got it from...It was the clothing set for an American GI..I'll find it...Thanks again..

If the disk has been formatted with a high level format the data can be recovered if it is a low level format then it cant.
