Just wondering how you go about creating one.

I did some alternate colours for the A3 Ponytail for a project & thought about offering them in the freestuff, but for that I will need my own transmap.

I tried painting hair strands in PS & PSP, but they came out very chunky, just wondering if there is an easier way.
