just a question to those who carries an account in deviantART - is nudity allowed though tastefully done or shouldn't one post anything nude at all? i have used V3 characters and never expose the lower half and the most i have done was expose the bottuck area on one of my renders. i do understand there is a fine line between tasteful and cras and have been (or so i thought) careful not to cross that line but today as i peruse my gallery, i noticed that all of my nudes were taken off and what remained are the clothed ones. thought you guys might have an idea since looking through their ToS did not give me the answer i needed and i'm not sure if asking them the question myself would get a reply at all. i was told they may or may not give you a reason or reasons for deleting posts. feel free to look at my gallery...if my nudes does look pornographic to you then i'd shrug and let this one go and move on, if it doesn't then i'd refrain from posting my nudes there to save frustration. i should also add that whenever i post nudes there, i always make it a point to check the "adult content".

I had a quick look through some of your gallery images here at R'osity and the nudes I saw were very tastefully done.  I have no idea why they would have been removed from your deviantART gallery.  :huh:

I haven't read over the deviantART ToS but I had always been under the impression that nudity was alowed.  And I've seen lots of nudes in the galleries there, both photography and rendered.

thanks hon...i think they removed it for a quick run through to see if there is any violation or something. they were on a read only mode earlier and noticed in my gallery that all the nudes are taken down....i think for a quick check BUT i am happy to say that it passed  and is now back up again =) although it may have been a frustrating couple of hours, in the end i am glad they have taken time to do that, i just wish they'd send you a notice, then again we're probably talking about thousands of galleries and sending each a notice would be quite cumbersome. thanks very much again neyjour, i appreciate your time in perusing my gallery. i have always been concerned about my nudes and try to do it as tastefully as possible.

Sounds like Deviant Art isn't so deviant afterall, LOL!

it's a strange thing, selective deletion of images, as the few times I have ended up at deviantart were as a result of google image searches involving keywords from x-rated anime DVDs.

I have an account at deviantArt and I never had any trouble with my nude pics

hehe i really have no idea as to why that was so except the logical reasoning would be if they were giving it a thorough check to see if it violated their ToS. other than that your guess is as good as mine.

dA has been picky over the past few months about certain things, a friend of mine had a fetishy image up, breast exposed, everything else covered up with latex, he got that pulled, me, i had a fetish image i did last year or so, with a woman squating on a bottle in fetish gear, that didnt get pulled at all!

I have noticed they are pulling images that DOESNT inflict with there ToS, which is stupid, i have seen images that premoted racisam, war and the likes and they still remain up, where as a picture in the style of pre-raphalite gets pulled!

dA, are getting stupid, but yet i still remain, ive had more reconision there then here!

well, it's been good so far. i have gotten some paid work through deviantART and that counts for something. as far as the censorship goes, it's caused quite a controversy why they would not allow certain artwork yet they allow others to express their anti semetic beliefs so long as they don't express hate towards others. don't quite know how that works but it is privately owned so they are allowed to police their website the best way they know how.
