Here's a link to a thread over at the Vue Forum.  I have been trying for years to get Vue to support Piranesi- but they have never done it.

Then I remembered that MetaCreation's Ray Dream Studio used to support Piranesi...!

So- now that DAZ own's Carrara- who is the contact person for getting new plug-in's for

Carrara? If they do it- then I will have a reason to get Carrara 5 while it is still on sale...

(The Vue thread explains what Piranesi is and what it does...)

You might like to contact Eric at digitalcarversguild.com

I had to struggle to find if this was a purchasable item! Some very odd sites around!

Hello Veritas. I looked at the output of Piranesi and have to agree that a plug-in could be a wonderful tool for illustration, technical or not, and would make a really cool animation filter as well. I am fairly new here so I am not sure who you would contact at DAZ, but I support your idea. I'd sure buy a plug-in with this capability. Have you tried contacting Eric Winemiller at Digital Carvers Guild? DCG publishes some of the best plug-ins for Carrara and is open to new ideas.

Good luck

Actually- Carrara would need to OUTPUT an Epix file. Epix is a special 3D file that Piranesi

uses to do the illustrations. (SEE Attached Link on how Piranesi works).

Piranesi obviously isn't for everybody- mainly those people who would like to make

serious regular income doing architectural or product illustrations for print and video.

Piranesi needs a COMPANION 3D program to get the 3D scene from. Currently

Piranesi is supported by 3DS MAX, Lightwave, C4D, Sketch-Up and most other

major 3D Architectural programs.    Informatix, which makes Piranesi, has been

around for many years already and is very well known in the 3D Architecural scene...

There's a free SDK available for Carrara, so any one can create plugins.

Ringo has put me in touch with Charles at Eovia- so maybe this will happen for C5 and Piranesi...

Also- I just purchased Carrara 5 with Transposer 2 for $94- and got the $25 voucher- which I plan to apply towards ToonPro...

Thanks!

I've already gotten emails from Charles at Eovia and Brian at Informatix- to exchange SDK info

for developing an EPIX exporter for Carrara 5...
