Poser Python Scripting F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 05 6:41 am)
You didn't say what version of Poser. Bring up your Python Scripts Window. Click "Utility Funcs".
Do you then see a "Delete all lights" button? If so, you could use that instead.
This is a one-liner version of what it says inside:
for light in poser.Scene().Lights(): light.Delete()
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

import poser
scene = poser.Scene()
for light in scene.Lights():
scene.SelectActor(light)
scene.DeleteCurrentProp()
I rote the above script to delete all lights in a scene after playing with light sets.
Recently I found I had a problem with a scene where no shadows were being rendered. The shadow cameras were not on the camera list and the render never went through the "creating shadowmap" part.
Is there a known problem with killing all the lights in this manner ?
