I can help you with the avatar stuff. Click on the "my options" at the top of this page and there is a small box that allows you to upload an avatar. The larger box is for a signature if you want to add one.

The gallery management is totally different than the board management options.

Click on "My Options" at the top of this page. The one in the gallery is for gallery options and not the board.

Ummm SeanE..where 'exactly' are you seeing that requirement in your profile....all I see in mine is {first name, email, password, country, city, yada, yada, yada....} I dont see anywhere asking for home address and phone number....
Is it possible you could get a screengrab of what you are seeing?

If you go to the gallery, and then click at the top where it says "My Options" (not the one at the top of this page, it has to be the one in the gallery), then click on:
Quote - se the form below to edit your options. Click Here to edit your profile and avatar.
The page that is displayed contains your billing information (minus the credit card stuff). And you have to enter the address etc in because it's red starred and required.

How did you find this site?
Ahhh, I didn't see the "Click Here" under the "My Options" for the boards.
I'm not sure the purpose of that profile page really. I remember it was months after I signed up for Renderosity that I noticed that my first and last name was being displayed in my profile for others to see. I was aghast! I was stalked by some sicko both on and off the net several years ago, and since then I've been paranoid and cautious and have taken to using a pseudynym last name for any online interaction. Some might not mind their identity being splashed around on a website, but I do. So I just erased all of the last name area save for the first letter.

that's right - it's red starred which means its required
renderosity has no reason to require an address or phone number UNLESS they wish to bill you for the marketplace and I for one have never used the marketplace to buy stuff from rendo' at all. If I ever do then of course I will fill in any and all details necessary. However until then rendo' doesn't need my address or phone and so these details should not be required fields for all members. Besides I get enough spam as it is...
What got my goat was that it kept giving me errors until I filled 'something' in at least. So I filled in some crap just so I could update the other fields and the profile in general.
Therefore this feature should be changed

you DO NOT need to know my home address and home phone number!
and yet they are required fields when you try to change the personal profile
and then despite everything, if I fill it in (with something 100% fake of course) I get MySQL errors at the top of the page anyway. Seems it doesn't like NOn-US-ian adress and phone formatting...
and while I'm here - how do I change the background colour of the galleries back to black? - and not the yeachh default grey? I had a look at the CSS code and if someone could translate that back into English, that would be lovely... otherwise give us back the old settings/buttons way of doing it
Finally - How do I add an avatar? - there was no where on the page that the link sent me to, to do so.
cheers
Sean
