Can someone point me towards a good, free program for making animated gif avatars?

Thanks

try download an old version of paint shop pro, like 4... it comes with a animation shop. Which is great cos then you have a graphics editor and animation suite in one, plus its free...

I may give that a try. Paint shop pro is Corel, yes? Would Photo Paint have the same function? BTW, where is a trusted site that I can get this free PSP4 from?

Photo Paint is Corel. Not sure who makes Paint Shop pro (think I had a version for Dos..kaff kaff..;) been some time.

Try some of the local shareware places, like Nonags.com, Sourceforge, etc., should be something like that around..

Well, I got an old Photo Paint and I found out lo & behold it can make animations. Only thing is it seems it can only save as mov, avi & mpg. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I'll take a look at your suggestions.

Thanks pakled.
