Subject: Help! Looking for Superman cape!

Iuvenis_Scriptor ( ) posted Mon, 03 July 2006 at 1:26 PM · edited Thu, 26 December 2024 at 7:47 PM

I'm working on an M3-based Superman in Poser 6. I've downloaded a Superman suit texture and belt from Muskateer Graphics and the Immortal's conversion of Phil Hokusai's Superman-style boots from Animotions.

I cannot, however, find a suitable cape. Charles Stacy's "Super Cape" isn't posable, Hasdrubal's "Super Cape" is made for Poser 4 and flat out does not work (doesn't attach to the M3 figure, for starters), and Orca Design Studios' "Dynamic Long Cape" is too large (it comes around the arms instead of draping the shoulders and waving behind the arms). Can anyone please point me to where I can find a posable or dynamic Superman-style cape that fits Michael 3 in Poser 6?

Here's a picture of what I need for reference: http://www.redcapegallery.com/Miscellaneous%20Images/WellingSuperman13.jpg

Thanks!

If you go there and search for "cape" or "cloak" you might find something.  Also, did you search here in free stuff for those terms?

I'm still fighting with VF to create a good Dynamic Cape for James. Finding the right places to make the cuts so they're symetrical is a bear once you've turned the figure to the right or left more than one time!

Jessi's isn't much easier but at least with her, I don't mind so much if it comes around her neck like a collar.

Orca Design Studios (ODS) have a cape - dynamic one.

Orca Design Studios' "Dynamic Long Cape" is too large Couldn't you just rescale this one? Love esther PS - have a play with taking the square that comes with poser (the high res one) and putting it over your character's head but set to not collide against the head, then drape.

The PoserPros capes would be great if they didn't fold around the neck. Everything I found at Mystic Nights I've already tried.  I think the Dynamic Long Cape would take a little more than resizing to fit.  The shape is roughly 2/3 of a circle.  In order for the cape to drape behind instead of around the arms, it would have to be less than a semicircle (maybe about 1/3 of a circle).  I don't think a square would do either, since it would be hard to curve the top edge around the back half of Mike's neck and still have it look natural.

Any other ideas?
