Subject: RenderCow - Manager VS Node

Hey Everyone

So I just set up my first render farm and render a quick animation. What took me an hour and a half on one machine took 36 minutes once I set up the farm. I have my machine under my desk that I am designing on and acting as the render manager, and I have two other machines here on the network that I installed the RenderCOW application on.

My question. Does the render manager send all of the work out to the nodes? Is there any rendering going on on the machine here under my desk that is running Vue 5 and the render manager. If it is only distributing the job and not working on it itslef I think I might want to take a different approach since this machine that is doing the render managing is my strongest machine, its got dual processors over 2GB of RAm,etc......its a horse.

Is this thing just dishing out the job or is it working on the job too?

Thanks in advance.

Shane

When Vue is acting as the HyperVue manager, it does no rendering. What you need to do is install a RenderCow on your main system as well, and things will be even nicer.
