Hello all... I'm getting VERY frustrated!!

When starting Poser 6 it Hangs and becomes unresponsive... I've visited e-frontiers website and did their trouble shooting for this problem and it DID NOT FIX IT!!!

I am using Windows XP home

Radeon X-300 SE 128MB Hyper Memory

Could you tell us what you already tried?

I've had some Poser trouble in the past, sometimes reinstalling Poser works, or reinstalling the service pack. Sometimes it's a library reference problem - usually occurs with libraries on removable disks. And sometimes it's Quicktime 7. Viruses are known to be troublesome too, as is Norton Internet Security.

I recently (foolishly) clicked the "oh yes I so want to update my Quicktime installation" when it was offered prior to watching a MOV. Bad move, crashed Poser. Uninstalled Quicktime in quick time. Poser happy :)

rworrilow,
If you added several runtimes into the library, then moved them when Poser 6 isn't running, the  next time Poser6 starts, it will look for those runtimes and it may take a while, so seems like it is hanging.

All,
As for QT update installation, yes, I also had that smash-up experience for my Poser 6, and I had to uninstall the QT (or I think I rolled-back to previous version).  It was easy to link the QT update to my Poser6 crash because it was the only change to my computer, and it affected my Poser 6 launch right afterward.

I can't remember why it happened, but mine was messing up and hanging, I had to reduce the hardware.  Now it works great.  Click display, settings, advanced, troubleshooting and reduce the accelerator hardware.  Sharen
