Subject: Question about "beam of light"

I'm doing a render of a lighthouse with Carrara, and I have a question about the beam of light I have coming from it. It seams to me that the light beam should be more intense closer to the source, but here's what I get. How can I make the beam of light look brighter closer to the source?

Thanks,

Guy
