Subject: Custom Channel Injection

kyhighlander59 ( ) posted Thu, 13 July 2006 at 3:03 PM · edited Wed, 22 January 2025 at 12:56 AM

Ok I am at my wits end. Someone help me please. LOL I feel like the guy that is in debt up to his eyeballs.

I am having trouble with a morph injection I have done. I am using the PBMCC channels to inject my morphs into and in some cases they conflict with custom characters that some people are using. I fear that if I move to the PBMDC channels I'll run into a similar problem.

So my question is, and I have ask this same question in several forums, is there a way to create custom morph channels in either the cr2 file or in the loaded figure that no one would be using? Mint suggested that I just list the channels that I am using and tell them ahead of time that if a character uses these channels not to attempt to load the morphs into that character, that is going to be my fall back posistion LOL.

I am familiar with the injectPMDfilemorphs technique but want to keep the package compatible with poser 4 if possible.

Thanks in advance

KY

The channels could be created using a Python script, called from a pose file. But I don't know if that works in Poser Pro Pack. Definitely not in P4, since P4 doesn't have Python.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter

Ok I've just written a python script to do it that works in P6, but have no way to test it in P5. I do have P4 and PP so I will test it in that. I was hoping to keep compatibility with P4.

Thanks for the reply.

You may like to look at the thread linked above. This method works in P4 and P5, as you will see from the thread, it may not work in P6, though perhaps this needs further confirmation.

Ok thank you so much. I think I finally got a handle on the problem now and that python script did work out just as I had hoped. It just requires Pro Pack which is cool.
