I am so new to this but have been making textures like crazy! Would like to save them to sell. But when I go to save them in pose it gives me just the pose the figure is in, If I save it to figures, it gives me the entire figure and the mat. I don't know where else to save to. Any help?

And I'm using a figure that is only found anymore in a pack and not separate, would this hinder selling it?

You need to a Make a MAT (material) pose.

This application makes MAT poses.

Or if you'd rather not spend money on a program to make them....You can save out a cr2 file with the material settings and delete everything from the file but the material zones and then save as a pz2 Mat pose using one of the free cr2 editing programs.

Linked is a little tut I did for a friend on making your own MATpose files.

Realmling
I couldn't download the cr2 editor! And I think this would be best, as I already have the files made. I just need to edit them. Would you by any chance know of another place that might have that utility handy? The link said file not found, so I'm guessing it has been deleted.

I do appreciate the fast responses as well! Thank you so very much!

I actually had the mat pose editor crammed into my poser files zips. I just never knew what it did before! LOL But it worked like a charm> just one question though, In the tutorial given that works with the cr2 builder, it says to rename the pz2 into cr2. I don't understand the difference. But I tried it and when I did the cr2 extension, it didn't show at all in my poser files. but when I changed the extension back to pz2 it worked fine. is there a major difference in the 2 files?

If you have Poser 5 or Poser 6 you could go to the material room and create a mat file.
Just select the figure.  Then go to your library list and at the bottom you will
see Materials.  Make sure that is highlighted.
Then press the + sign below it to Add to Library.  It will give you a
pop-up menu.  If you select Material Collection and press Select Material you get
another pop up menu.  Select the parts you want the texture applied to
and hit OK. The hit OK in the first pop up menu.  And you have saved
your material collection.  Much easier than trying to hack a cr2 file
or fooling around with 3rd party software.  Basically mat poses were
just work-around left over from earlier versions of Poser and
it seems a lot of people have yet to figure out that the material
room is easier and the way to go.

"is there a major difference in the 2 files?"

Yep. A CR2 is a character file. A PZ2 is a pose file.

If you search the site for tutorials and FAQ's by the erstwhile Dr Geep. the deepest mysterys of poser filetypes, the location of atlantis and the loch ness monsters mobile phone number shall be revealed.

BTW the last 2 are blantant porkies :) but Dr Geep is the one you should seek.
