Subject: cinnamon roll?

Hi All,

Anyone know where there might be good food models for Poser or 3ds or LW? Specifically pastries. Cinnamon rolls, turnovers, all that stuff.

Thanks!

Gordon

http://www.shar3d.com/ has a box with one doughnut in it.  You could use the grouping
tool to put more in it.

TrekkieGrrl also has some food models.

You can also use the above linked data base to search for various items.

I know where I SAW some complementary donuts, but can't say I've seen any Cinnamon rolls.  Have you tried your lodcal bakery? ;-D

But seriously, what you need is a compact spiral with a crust like texture.  I would think that Trekkigirrrl could whip up something like that in a jiffy.  Send her an IM and see what she says.

I'm on my way to work now, but I could do a cinnamon roll when I get home I guess.

I'll check back in some 9 hours or so :o)

Well, don't put yourself out on my account! I can buy some Cinna-Bons at the store, shoot a digital photo of one, and map it to a cookie that's been scaled up really thick.

I originally WAS going to use the "Complimentary Doughnuts", but I realized that doughnuts are fried, rather than baked. For the 'toon I'm doing, I have to have something similar, but baked. It's hard to explain why without completely giving away the 'toon. I was thinking cinnamon rolls because they're recognizable from a greater distance, so I wouldn't have to use too "tight" of a camera shot.

I'll just put off finishing this 'toon until the weekend. Work on a different one in the meanwhile.

Thanks all, for the suggestions!!!! I appreciate it!

Have no fear, Gordy, Sextus Julius Severus will save the day! (Although some MIGHT prefer Septimus Severus instead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septimus_Severus). Yours truly, David P. Hoadley

Might work. They probably lack the recognizability at a distance that cinnamon swirls have , though. Hmmmmmm..............

Another problem I run into often is that my final renderings are usually 4000x3090. By the time I've cut the size down to something that makes sense for the web site, I lose a fair amount of fine detail.

It was Vista's doughnuts that I used for the "Complimentary Doughnuts" 'toon. Unfortunately, they don't have quite the right baked goods. A slice of pie wouldn't look quite right in this particular case. Oh, well....

I'm planning on making a cinnamon bun this weekend so I can finish the 'toon.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Gordon
