Subject: Several Wyrmmaster Deformer Questions

nimbvs ( ) posted Tue, 18 July 2006 at 6:05 AM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 9:16 PM

Hi there - I have a bunch of questions, any help would be appreciated. I've been using the various sets for almost five years now and there are still some intricacies I don't get. I believe he is still overseas so I will ask the community here instead. Yes, I have searched the forum, etc.

  1. What does X-Lock do?

  2. How am I supposed to use Cloth Double-Feed fix? If I import a figure from the library, or load a saved scene it usually appears disrupted with the shirt with strangely large breasts and the legs get messed up as well. This button does not seem to help this problem, which occurs with single or multiple figures.

  3. Sometimes I find a figure will freeze - sometimes I can adjust the head but nothing else, sometimes I can adjust the body but not the head. This can occir after time, or after import.

Thank you for any help you can give. The frozen figure is most annoying - you make a great figure and then can only use it one time before you have to start from scratch. These are fantastic tools, I would love to know how to use them better.

As of Feb of this year Richard was back home. I believe you can try to get a hold of him at RDNA or at  wyrmmaster@witchesandwyrms.com

I'll forward this to the Master, then, and let you know what I find. Thanks for the tip!

In the meantime, any advice or suggestions is appreciated - surely someone must know what X-lock means...

Did you check the read me? I'm not being rude here really lol I have Cherry Charming and love her. The read me has everything you could possibly need to know about all that stuff necessary to use her. I don't get most of it, but I know if I follow the read me when using her I have absolutley no problems whatsoever.

By the way in his read me it says x lock prevents cross talk from cloth remotes to the person.😉

Cheers!

I have used the readme to help with the basics, yes, but that line as you quoted does not help much. I have tried to apply it to the figure as well as to the clothes with no effect. Thank you for your help, I think I am dumb and need explicit directions...

Not dumb those magnets can be quite confusing for sure. Like I said I don't get it, I just follow the step by step ;) Does your version of the read me not have the step by step in it? If this isn't helping (wich I'm guessing it's not since I don't have a real clue either lol) then yup all I can suggest is talking to the man himself! :)

Okay I re read the read me, seems you need to load the figure, then load the deformers at that point you use the x locks person. then you do the inj stuff and add cloths. Does that help??

Yeesh I should just let someone who knows what they're talking about in here, I'm probably confusing you  more lol....sorry just trying to help I really love these characters. But now I think I'll leave it to the veteran magnet users.....

XLock prevents crosstalk between magnets.  If you're doing separate magnets for the clothes and the figure, apply the xlock to the figure before you create the magnets for the clothes.  I generally apply the XLock to the figure immediately after I create the magnets for it, just in case I decide to use separate magnets for clothes later.  You should probably just get in the habit of doing that every time you use the set - I've never known it to cause any problems.

The double feed thing should work for you when you encounter the problem you're seeing.  I forget which figure (person or clothing) you need to have selected when you apply the double feed fix pose, so try it on both, but one or the other should solve that problem.

I get the figure freeze occasionaly myself, but for me it turns out the figure isn't really frozen, the screen just doesn't update for changes unless I select something else.  I find setting a camera dot in that situation usually updates the screen with your adjustments.  It's still a hassle though since you can't see your changes in "real time."  I think it's more of a Poser error than a problem with the magnet set, but I'm not certain what it is about the magnet set that exposes this Poser error.  Nothing seems to remove the problem either short of creating a new scene.

Hope this helps some.

So I should bring the figure in, apply the deformer mags, then X-lock. Next I bring inthe clothes, conform them, then use the fit pose to deform them. Do I X-Lock the clothes as well?

The double feed works occasionally if you apply it to the clothes that are enlarged - but not all the time for some reason.

I think I will just X-Lock everything in sight!

funny, to this day, I'm still having the very same issues outlined in the first post regarding Wyrmmaster's magnets, that's why I was searching for a possible solution here in the forums, but it appears I'll jave to head to rdna?? well, off I go.. (the most annoying thing for me is when all the expressions in a character are still there,. but they don't work.. you have to manually go and reinject all the expression morphs... and then again everytime you open the file (I'm talking about figures modified with said magnets)
