Subject: File paths

I am a total newbie but one of the first challenges I face is where/how to structure file paths for all the various products...

I understand that they must be in a recognized "runtime" folder. or subfolders but there is so much stuff available I am hoping there might be a program to make and maintain sub folders for individual characters (Victoria 3) and their specified items, hair, etc.

Anyone?  Thanks

Simply GO to the C:Program FilesCuious LabsPoser 6RUNTIMELibraries-Folder.

There you`ll find all the Mainitemfolders like Character, Face, Hands, Hair,Props.....

Usually when you buy an Item, you get an installer or a zip/rar-package. The Installer normaly knows the paths.... the Packages you drop into the Main-folder (Poser 6) and unzip. The Package also has the correct Pathes.

Sometimes Freebies habe NOT the Pathes! Then you must put the files in the folders manually.

Beside the Libraries, there are 2 more important folders which are Geometries and Textures.

I recommend to take some time, and watch the complete Folderstructure.... for better understanding.

I hope this answers a little, and.... sorry for my english.... i`m german.

Your main library folders can be added to with sub-folders much like any other folder structure.

For instance: You can add sub-folders to your props folder like, Weapons, clothing, buildings, etc.

The pose folder can have for instance: M3 poses, V3 poses, Judy poses, Jessi poses, MAT poses etc.

Whatever you do, LEAVE your geometries and texture folders alone!!!!!

Some people prefer to use Multiple runtimes, not a fan myself, prefer the sub-folder approach, there are many tutes available for doing multiple runtimes if you want to go that way!

Injustice will be avenged.

Character folder in your computer file system is Figures menu item inside of Poser 6

Face folder is Poser 6 Expressions menu item

You can only see the material folder if you go inside Cloth Room and pull out the tab on the right side of the Poser screen (that is, if your Poser Library menu is tucked back into the right edge of the screen)

Scripts are under Python folder of your computer file system.

Just read a post at some other website about the changes to a python-script based product.  The new distributors changed the folder structure but the python scripts themselves were pointing to the folders as they were when distributed by the previous guy.

So, best thing is - if you need help, holler !!  Someone here should hear you.
