Subject: Shotguns and bullet trails with P6

Do you know of something (free or pay) to simulate shotguns, flashes from weapons, bullet trajectories, and similar "special effects" in Poser 6?

Or the best solution is always applying them with postwork?

Thanks!

Giorgio

In the market place is the only thing I know about texture animations for shotguns.  I have purchased most of JPeters texture animation props, and they do great.

Also at DAZ I purchased "Fog Tool Delux III" and knowing how to play around with it, you will get good results of flashes, smoke and more. Check image of one of my usage "Fog Tool Delux III", still needs work, but it does great. Just image my image was animated. 😄

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

tyger, that bullet path is an intriguing effect. it's very difficult to actually photograph a bullet trail, but it's probably helical in shape, dissipating rapidly at the tail end. it may be due to the refractive changes in the air compressed (or pushed aside) by the bullet, but I dunno the details.

I don`t think that the matrix bullet effect was trying to mimic an actual bullets trail.

Actually i think it looks more like this...which isnt quite as cool to put into your rendered images.

yeah, whadda they call that - schlieren photography? an hypersonic bullet is preceded by a shock wave of varying angle. I can sorta see a vortex, but it's very turbulent compared to the various simulations

I think by bullet trails he actually means the tracer effect.

The is a movie at the link that shows it.
