Subject: Clother/Clothim Question

I've been looking at the Clother/Clothim injuries packages with interest. I don't own either product, but I do have a few questions about them.

As I understand it, Clothim/her combines a standard Unimesh texture with a special, proprietary-format clothing or skin texture, to produce a texture that can be used on a Unimesh figure. The product requirements on both products seem to indicate that the resulting textures can be used on any Unimesh Figure. Presumably, you could take a texture created with Clothim and use it on M3, V3, D3, A3, the Freak, etc. Is this correct?

If so, I wonder why they require two different programs that essentially do the same thing? What's the big difference between Clothim and Clother, besides the fact that you have to buy separate add-on packs for each? I'm mainly interested in Clother or Clothim for the skin markings (blemishes, bruises, injuries, tattoos, etc.), not for the clothing. Could I get away with buying just one of the programs and its associated add-on packs?

The quickest way to get the right answer is asking the merchant him or herself.

I suspect you couldn't use either with any other figure than the intended, as the main purpose of the product is to wring money out of you. The textures could perfectly well have been sold on their own, as all you need is a blender mode in Poser's materials editor to apply them. Whether or not you like the textures, the program is just a way to make you pay extra for what you already have. And if you buy Clother and Clothim and Masker, you are paying three times over.

I emailed the creator before I posted here. I thought I'd ask them as well as the people who had the program. (For the record, I got an answer here first.)

Phantast, I originally thought the same way you did, until I read the part of the description that said you could use the programs with any Unimesh Figure. That got me to wondering why they made three separate programs.
