Subject: stopping avis from auto opening after render in poser

Is there a way to keep AVIS from automatically opening after they are finished rendering in Poser 5/6?  A setting?

Not to my knowledge.

not a direct answer, but render to a sequence of files (e.g. tiff files)?

thanks.  i didn't think so. was wondering if possible besides the image sequence.

I was never successful in my own experiments.  Even tried temporarily deleting/disabling/removing Windows Media Player from my system ... only to discover that Windows would immediately "regenerate" the files if they went AWOL.

On the other hand, I must have accomplished something, because previously Poser would open the AVI exclusively with Windows Media Player, whereas now it opens with my player-of-choice, Media Player Classic.

I was considering having it render to an external hard drive and the second it finishes rendering, bash my cpu with a hammer. the problem with that is you need deep pockets to buy a new cpu after every avi render.

isnt there a windows setting somewhere where you can associate certain file types to certain players. maybe you can set avi to open with nothing.
