I've been doing a lot of modeling for a science fiction project over the past few years, but every once in a while I take a break and do something that is a bit more ordinary. Here are a couple of WIP details of a quick modeling project that is nearing completion.

I have been working on this for a little over a week, but only in the evenings and parts of the weekends. All told, about 50 hours of modeling and rendering here.

The mesh work might appear unusual, but that's because I am modeling for Poser, following the old conventions for Poser 4 compatibility.

Here's a few other WIP images. Anyone venture to guess what the project is?

Guess again Teyon... Hint; he always says organic modeling is not his fort but it looks like he's been practising...

Coming soon

Teyon — Sorry, Big T... no, e-frontier did not contact me about anything. And whatever it is... it wasn't me... I didn't do it... I wasn't even there at that time. :tongue2:

Mikewave — Yes... I confess I have been dabbling in organics, not so much in modeling though.

Rendered in LightWave... I've got ambient occlusion turned on, and I have the wires turned on as well.

Don't have those options remind me to get some real software.

I second that Dann-O, I need one too. I wonder if Poser has that option. Ive been lookin for a software that can render with the wires on. Then again I cant afford LW, so thats out the door, lol.

Very nice modeling, very nice.

Will say this for lightwave as far as the top end programs go it is more resonably priced than the competition. still out of my reach. But I know it is more powerful than a lot of peopel give it credit for.

 Cornelp...

In P4 you set up your document style, and go to Render--Make movie.  Set it to use document style, render to individual images, and set the frames to render only one.  Check the antialiasing option and save it as a TIF.

P6 has a separate tab in the render options for previews.  It renders right to the document window.  If your OGL is not up to it, use SreeD.  It works just as well.  P5 probably has that too, but 5 and I didn't get along that well ;)

So if I do the Render-Make Movie, the Mesh Lines will show up in the render?

Just trying to understand this right.
