THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Volumetric falling snow

Hi everybody.  I must confess that I am working on a new picture using carrara, but for the life of me can't get the particles to create volumetric snow.  I know at one time several years back a few people posted on how to create volumetric falling snow in Bryce.  I intend to use Bryce to make my volumetric snow that I will then apply as a (or several) photoshop layers for my final image.  If somebody would be kind enough to point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Sincerely,

David

P.S.  I am looking forward to Bryce 6....and am squeezing every penny to get it and a new Mac Pro...or I could just spend the money and take an actual vacation (since I have not been on one in 7 years).....Nah Bryce 6 and a Mac Pro...then i can render my dream vacation :p

Hi David; I have a texture pack at the link that has some Volumetric snow for application to a large cube that surrounds the scene and the camera. It's in the 2005 Textures pack in the "volume_environs.mat" and it's called (surprise!) Snow. It's a slow render and may need some tweeking. We're hoping to get a Mac Pro at work sometime in Nov. The one for home is going to have to wait a while... HTH; Dan
