Subject: Rendering To White Background?

Jonj1611 ( ) posted Wed, 06 September 2006 at 5:44 AM · edited Tue, 24 October 2023 at 2:59 PM

Hi,

I have my scene that I want to render, but I do not need the atmosphere or infact the ground, is it possible to just render on a white background?

Thanks
jon

There is a white atmospher I think, but the problem is how the lighting will affect the scene?  You can also delete the sun, add point lights, etc...

Or you can use the alpha mask to remove the sky & ground in a paint program ( just don't forget to tick the " hide infinite plane from alpha" option in the render dialog box.

You can also simply add a white plane just behind your main objects in the scene. Orient it to face the camera and size it to occupy the whole frame of the picture.

This is like turning your scene into a miniature photo studio with white background.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments, the image is actually going to be a logo for a website so it will be very small, only about 125x125 in size.

Cheers

I had this happen accidentally once.  Memory issue with an earlier version of VI5.  The sky wouldn't render.  Ended up transparent.  Seems like this would be a useful option, and obviously, it's possible.  Maybe E-on should make it a feature, instead of a bug.  ;-)

If you have Vue Infinite, you can also render a particular layer and its alpha mask. This is ideal for a logo.
