What is the secret to getting the background color to change with the paint bucket tool?  I need to animate with a blue background instead of the default grey.  I use the paint bucket tool, but when I let go the background changes back to the default grey.

You need to use the Material Room and delete the unused nodes.

Thanks for coming to  my rescue Doctor!  I can always count on Dr. Geep.  I am posting a screenshot of the advanced material settings.  Can you show me the nodes to delete?

Ok I got it done by clicking on the background while in the advanced material room, then setting the color and deleting the detached nodes.  I could have sworn that I changed it yesterday with just the paint bucket tool.  I wonder why the material room created all the detached nodes?

Here's a simpler way. You can choose from the colour picker that comes up when the dot is clicked.
