That reminds me, I forgot to feed my keyboard today.  Congratulations on a great cartoon, your stuff reminds of a cartton calander book my brother once gave me, called 'The Wild Side.'  I wonder if there is any kind of connection/cross inspiration involved here.

It must be a cultural thing, but I can't see the significance of setting the clock to 4:20.  Would it have something to do with Mother Goose's 'Hickory Dickory dock'?

Thanks!!!  Maybe it was the Far Side Calendar?? I was certainly a fan of those 'toons. First, though, was Charles Addams' cartoons, when I was a kid. And Pogo. Then I was much into B. Kliban's cartoons in the mid-to-late Seventies. Then Far Side and Bloom County. I quite like Non Sequiter and a couple of others these days.  

Yes, I was thinking in terms of Mother Goose myself. UVDan?

'The Far Side' seems tp ring a bell, but it's been close to twenty years, so my memory is a little off.  Charles  Addams sould familiar too, but I can't remember what he did, unless it was 'The Addams Family.'  I remember Pogo a little bit from my boyhood, but for the last thirty years, i've been more or less cut off from mainstream American culture.
I immigrated to Israel a couple of weeks before my twentieth birthday, way back in the Summer of '73.  My first major experience with war was two month later on a Kibbutz, when Saturday Afternoon on Yom Kippur I hear that Israel has been attacked on two fronts in both the Sinai and the Golan Heights.  I think that was what influenced me to spend the rest of my life here.
One good thing I can say about life here in Israel, boredom is NOT a problem.

4:20 means it's time to smoke some weed.  So when you hear somebody ask if it is 4:20 yet, you know what is going on.  Far Side, Bloom County, and Pogo......oh boy some of my favorites.

Heh! I HAD heard of the 420 pot reference.  I wasn't sure how much in use it was, though. I went to high school in the early '70's, and almost everyone smoked dope there. I pretty much stopped by 1980, though. It started giving me headaches.

Charles Addams' cartoons WERE the basis for The Addams Family TV show. They were pretty bizzare sometimes. Very cool. He worked for The New Yorker magazine for most of his career.

No, I can't imagine that living in Israel would ever be boring. Yikes!

Why exactly 4:20 is time to smoke some cannabis, and not say 4:15 or 4:25.  What is SO significant about 4:20?

Interesting, but by the time this rather arcane custom entered mainstream American pop culture, I was already seeking fame and fortune in the bustling streets of Tel-Aviv.  For me, if my memory holds correct, 4:20 PM only significance was that that was when the local TV channel broadcast my favorite show: 'Little House on the Prairie.’

Well, I'm a bit "out of it" in that regard myself. :biggrin:

"Little House" was a classic!   I also loved "Highway to Heaven".
