Go look there Vera. I do not think there's a lot of shops in SA who's going to beat these prices ;0)

@ Bonita: Thanks for you "foreigners" on this page paying us a visit and sharing, we would like to hear when you people do the same. The spirit was absolutely great, the young ones always energetic and mischievous and the old ones panting from trying to keep up. I was one of the young ones. :woot:
Had a blast reading this thread.I love all the positive energy in it.Wish I could have been there!!!Thanks for sharing!

Wow that looks like so much fun. Doubt if i would touch a snake here in Aussieland as most are too poisonous. So jealous of you guys. Maybe us Aussie should plan to meet at the Photo Expo in Melbourne next year.
Glad you had a wonderful time and your all got to share your passion of photography. Even sharing a sausage and beer?
Cant wait to see more images and laugh at your antics.
Chris:b_funny:
@ Chris: No snake can be that poisonous not to be incapacitated by the mampoer wafts madam. Maybe you should consider us as the team to make your arrangements, I'd love to see Aus, there being so many similarities in nature.
Thanks for being excited by the content. When South Africa wakes up on Monday I would certainly like to see them post more samples and maybe we can share some useful things we learnt from co-members - I am not talking liquid refreshments now!
Quote - Your trip looks such wonderful fun.. For all friends.. I wish I had been with you. So glad Oom Piet, you visited the memorial sites. It is good to remember. I also know how important it was for you to do this.. To stand, to speak so quietly. To leave this traquil place with peace. Peace for the fallen and for you. I ask you, please send this link to Gimi53, our Michel. He would want to contribute.
Di, my good friend Vera (PeeWee05) was the brain behind the memorial sites. I must warn though that the memorial sites in that area, necessitates a tour of its own and may take 3 days or more to cover. Some are hidden away on farms. I have not even scratched the surface. The scenery is excellent and offers great photographic opportunity.
I have sent GiMi53 (Michel) an invitation to visit and I am sure he will still do it if he hasn't.
Okay so what did I learn?
Andrew showed me some things about my cam that I didn't know - I learnt that we are all Canon favs - funny it worked out that way... and Zel taught me something too - the zooming a focusing thing :D
@ Oom - when is you 30D arriving?
Rights Come With Responsibilities VAMP'hotography Website VAMP'hotography Blog
Vera, rather not talk to the Oom about when his cam is arriving. He's like a kid that can't wait for Xmas or his b'day giggle No patience whatsoever ;0)
I learnt a few things too! Andy showed me how a lens hood can take the sunspots away and even though I'm not sure he knows it, he showed me how the change of an f-stop can make the lights on an night photography shot sparkle. Thanx Andy!! And Oom Piet showed me how - even though I have a polarising filter on my cam - it actually works! Yeah, silly me :tongue2:
Herman showed us all how a tripod actually works giggles myself silly Vera showed me - after the weekend - how to make my presentation look better - Thanx tjom!!!
So I think overall we had a pretty good weekend! Everyone learnt something and that's why we were there right?

Yes, I learnt that the mampoer cap, if used as a tot measure, .... :b_funny: Silly!
@Vera: My Canon is on its way! Maybe in a week's time! I just can not wait Zel!
I learnt, photography is hard work: You should be out where the action is (early), be it a sunrise/sunset or capturing Vera's owl, or the ducks on the pond, reflections in the water at night, no place for complacency.
I learnt quite a lot about my new camera by listening to what's been said about noise, lenses and F-stops while the three Canonnites had been in their trances. Andrew gave a couple of lectures on composition while he was bragging with his photos. Andrew is a computer geek and I was surprised to see the i-Pod-like gadget he had which contained all his photos - that is neat!
I learnt about good spirit to help each other enhance their skills - a rare commodity where competition rears its head. I also learnt that an entry level camera can produce excellent results in the hands of an eager to learn person - good work Harry!
Of course we're not! We had one seriously fun weekend! I've learnt a lot! I laughed a lot! I enjoyed each and everyone's company. I've made some really good friends (only made enemies with that aweful snake that was so nosy that Friday evening grins) I think we're a lovely group and I hope and trust that the rest of the SA Rendo members (and anyone who wants to join us next year) will make a plan and be there (in spite of the mampoer *giggle)

@ Oom - the cap is only a half tot - you need two!!! I had my iPOD with all pics on but i didn't wanna show off...
I learnt I love snakes!!!

And yes, I know about the sunspots. Got myself a hood for my lens in the meantime, so that won't happen again ;0)
