Subject: Matfile to props

Hi

Can anyone please tell me, how I create a matfile for props. I tried with MPE but wasn't working.

Regards

Laila

The trick is to texture the prop in poser, then save it back to the props library.

MAT poses won't work on props unless the prop is parented to something - or so I've read numerous times :-)

your best bet is to use netherworks' free matpose writer python script & null figure.  load the null figure, then a single  textured prop, do a quick render, select the prop again, then run the script.  read the directions to see where your matpose & thumbnail ends up...  also remember props WILL NOT accept matposes unless a figure is present in your scene.

If you have poser 6 it is best just save to MC6 files from the material room.

i believe that is p4/pp specific. in P5 and 6 you must have a figure in the scene for the mat pose to work.

if you use MC6 files it will always work.

mat poses copied to your materials library and renamed to MC6 will work as an MC6

And there is les bently's hack .... do a quick search; it was mentioned in this forum just a week ago. But since most of us will have a figure in the scene anyhow, that restriction is not onerous.
