Subject: Blender Crashing On Me!

Low res meshes are no problem for modeling and such, but I've been importing higher res figure meshes into Blender from Poser and when using the proportional editing tool, Blender crashes on me. I've got plenty of RAM and am using 2.40. Going to download the latest. Any thoughts?

I've imported poser figures into blender 2.42a and used the proportional editor with no problem.  Occasionally it'll get a bit slow, but just for a few moments then it works just fine again.  Thats with 778 RAM.  It might just be that you're using an old version?

Actually, if you plan on getting the figures back into poser afterwards you'll want the new version anyway, the obj exporter is better.  You may still have to manually rename groups in the obj file, though...?

Sounds good. If I'm doing a head, I just reload it as a morph target so that's no big deal. If I'm doing the whole body, I use Compose to join and then break up the mesh. Thanks! Looking forward to the new version. Haven't changed since 2.40.
