Subject: Need Boots for Jessi

skeetshooter ( ) posted Mon, 20 November 2006 at 3:56 PM ยท edited Mon, 27 January 2025 at 6:06 AM

Anyone out there know where I can find boots for Jessi? I need a relatively simple, tall and well-fitting pair with heels to which I can apply various textures. If Jessi is a clotheshorse, she must be one unhappy lady. I have seen just one pair, for sale, and they are not really what I need. And I have not had much success with V3 boots (of which there are many) using clothing converters, which all struggle with shoes of any kind. SS

Have you tried Wardrobe Wizard? I have pretty good success with converting V3 or A3 footwear to other figures.

There is a pair of boots with a dress at this link. It's the only boots I saw for Jessi in the MP when I searched for Jessi related items.

There might be others under "shoes" or "boots", but I only looked for "poser 6 only - Jessi".

DarkEdge, the boots I'm looking for would be sleek and fitted to the leg, almost second skin, like a superhero boot, but with (or without) a heel. Acadia, I have Wardrobe Wizard and really love what it can do for clothes, but perhaps I haven't become accomplished enough at its procedures for adapting shoes as I should have -- they haven't turned out well (a toe and calf fit thing). Laziness has its price, but after hearing about your good luck with it, I'll spend more time learning the shoe thing. Skeet

skeet,ย
i'm here to help, okay? and don't mean to be a pain in your arse...but a superhero thingy with or without a heel is too open ended.
what superhero?
looks like?
heels?
no heels?

i can make what i would want...but it's not necessairly what you want.ย

Thanks, DarkEdge. Basically, I need the boots in the V3 Superhero Complete or Skinsuits for Glamorous Vickie; i.e., like the boots that Supergirl would wear. Can't really put Uggs (the boots that come with the Jessica character in Poser 6) on a superhero, and my simplistic undertakings with Wardrobe Wizard to date have yielded crimpy toes and mis-aligned calves when I try to transform boots from those two Victoria packages. It's for a superhero animation where I have used the Poser 6 Face Room to map dead-on replicas of my female friends, so I gotta use Jessi. I've transformed the superhero costumes using Wardrobe Wizard with great success; now I just need their superhero boots to fit. Skeet

If you could post a link to a picture that would help DarkEdge out so that he could see the design and look that you were going for.

So post a link to a picture to help him out :)ย  He'll be able to create something for you based on that.ย  But I know he won't copy a merchant's design, so find a picture on the internet instead of a picture of boots in an existing package by a merchant.

okay, here they are...under **superheros**. [ http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/downloadgeek/lst?.dir=/poser&.view=l](http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/downloadgeek/lst?.dir=/poser&.view=l) just extract to your **poser:downloads** folder and it should install correctly from there. my first attempt at this (folder orders) so let me now if it doesn't work. this is for jessi. thinking of creating a superhero outfit for miss jessi, so keep an eye out...oh, and you'll have to turn her feet invisable. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks a bunch, DarkEdge! Gottem! I'll let you know how they work. SS

One more thing, DarkEdge, on your thought about creating an entire superhero costume or wardrobe for Jessi: Poser 7 promises to make it a lot easier to create animation because of several new features that are clearly geared toward that and much greater speed -- work and rendering -- for the right machines. I'm actually postponing the final stage of my newest 3D cartoon because I think the scene construction and character animation (as well as voice) it will be a lot easer on P7 than P6. Right now I have to export each multi-character frame as a still image and compile the anmiation sequence in Final Cut Pro; anything else is too taxing on my system, powerful as it is (multi-processor, tons of RAM). Accordingly, there is a possibility that the new power via P7 could yield a kick in demand for cartoon-related clothing and props that you might associate with animated short films or cartoons rather than posed shots. Just a thought. PS: the boots work great on Jessi! Thanks again! SS
