Subject: Poser 6 Material Conversion

shg0816 ( ) posted Thu, 23 November 2006 at 6:50 PM · edited Sun, 22 December 2024 at 7:19 PM

Greetings,

I recently bought  clothing set that was set up for Poser 6, and I am using it in Poser 5.

Part of that package included a set of Poser 6 materials.

My question is, is there a way to convert the materials to Poser 5 materials?

Any help or other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tried applying them in P5? They might work ok. just a thought.

I assume they are mc6 files. which can be converted to a MAT pose file by changing a couple of lines of code (and renaming the file).

Unfortunatly, i dont know what they are but i have seen  it written in the forums before.

also keep in mind that p6 has some materials that p5 does not. so it may "work" but not look quite the same.

If they are a mt6 file - material collection, you can convert them to a matpose type file by making a simple edit in Notepad or whatever.

mt6 files:
{

version
 {
 number 6
 }
mtlCollection
 {
 material Strapless

Convert to matpose:
{

version
 {
 number 6
 }

figure
 {
name Shirt
 material Strapless

change the mtlcollection line to figure, and add the figure's name above the first material......oh and you can change the version number to 5 as well. Save as a pz2 file and you should be good to go.

That's a quick easy way to convert an mtlcollection to a matpose.
