can anyone give me some websits to look up or check out i had some but hard drive went bad and lost them it was from some site that had lots of  maps of usa areas... but cant remember what it was any help would be great ...thanks darren ....

Try and Google for them... " usa maps, jpg, photo "

depends on what kind you want. I know there's something called '.dem' files, that can be used in Terragen, that are created by various US agencies. I'm wondering if Bryce can do the same.
