Subject: Universal Poses Procedures

Okay I just did a lot Poser 7 home work regarding universal poses.  I am going to give you a short TUT on this but it's unknown if this works or not.  It seemed to work but I have a few questions regarding this procedure.

I loaded V3 into my scene with no morphs INJ.  I then loaded a pose specifically for V3.  After posing her, I go to the Poser 7 runtime pose folder and find the Universal Poses folder.  In that folder I made another folder called (Adrians Universal Poses)  After loading that folder, I then go up to scripts, utility, ConvertToUniversalPose.  Now after I do that, a menu pops up asking me if I want to save the pose in the Pose 7 directory (C:Program Filese frontierPoser 7).  Heres my confusing with this.  Do I save it in that directory or do I go to the folder I made in the Pose folder?  For this TUT I went ahead and saved this to the folder I made.  Now I press OK and then another window pops up asking me if I want to overwrite the original pz2 file.  Of course I pressed NO because I really don't know what I'm doing LOL.  But anywho, once I did that, nothing was added to that folder I made.  So I then saved the pose I did with V3 into my folder.  I then loaded Matt into a new scene and used my new universal pose I made and he posed with no problems at all.  If I'm doing something wrong with this please tell me because I want to convert a lot of poses today.  Thanks for the help.

Well after careful review of my TUT, I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't work.  If anyone has a good TUT for this, it would be greatly appreciated.

First of all the script will convert existing poses to universal poses. It should ask for the folder to convert and convert all poses in that folder (if I understand all this correctly).

What you are doing is creating a universal pose, this should work by simply saving a pose. P7 should save all poses as universal poses. But beware there are issues with universal poses (see other threads) so do NOT convert your existing poses at this moment and whe saving a pose only apply it to the same figure, using it on another figure might cause problems.

Yes I have saved it both ways using the script which miserably failed and then I saved it as a universal pose in Poser 7 which didn't work either.  I guess it's another bug in the program.  Thanks for your help.

If you convert the pose for the p4 casual woman and resabe it it works as fully universal......this is actually somewhere in the manual in fine (blue) print.

My Stuff:) You might hate it, but you never know...

To save as universal pose you need to activate that in preferences... So change preferences, load figure, apply pose, save pose back to library and it's an universal pose...
