Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 17 1:30 pm)
Area render just appears to be a bit buggy, I have had it give me a blank area many times and then immediately after, without changing any settings, it works fine.
But it's not just the area render, I get nothing but background color if I do a full render.
I've tried to recreate the problem doing the last thing I did that seems like it would affect things, deleting lights in a scene and then saving, shutting Poser down, and reloading the scene, but everything seems to work with different scenes.
And the only way I got anything other than grey is by not using raytracing (which precludes using IBL and AO, which I want to.
I guess I'll have to rebuild the scene, unless I magically decides to work the way I want it to first.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but it seems to be.I've been working on a large image for a while, and decided to try using an IBL light setup to get better ground shadows, but after saving the file in P7, with all lights deleted, it seems that nothing shows up whenever I render with Raytracing enabled. Even changing to a different lightset, IBL or not, produces the same results with raytracing.
The attached picture is of the scene, from overhead. The grey box in the middle is my attempt to do an area render with raytracing enabled.
I haven't changed any of the render settings after loading the scene back up, save for checking and unchecking Cast Shadows and Raytracing.
The scene renders fine without raytracing, and everything is checked to be visible in raytracing, so I'm at a loss as to the possible cause. It's kind of frustrating, because I've found it rather difficult to get decent "this figure is in contact with the ground" shadows with the RDNA Microcosm tiles unless I'm using IBL.
