Subject: Poser 7 and Poser 5

javajimg ( ) posted Sat, 23 December 2006 at 10:01 PM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 11:47 AM

I have just received my copy of Poser 7, but I am working on a project with Poser 5 that will take me some time to complete,  so I need to know:

  1. Can I install Poser 7 and still be able to use Poser 5?
  2. If the answer to the above question is yes, will I be able to uninstall Poser 5 when I am done with it and not screw up Poser 7?

Thanks in advance for all your help,

Jim Gantt

  1. Yes
  2. Yes, but you can leave P5 installed and just add it's Runtime into P7, in case you need it for anything.

Yes to both, although uninstalling P5 after having installed P7 may cause Windows to lose the file associations for poser files.

I did that, and had to run the installer for P7 again because none of my pz3s were connected to Poser anymore and I couldn't get Windows to accept it as a program to open the files.
